Joel Pabon - Trustee
Councilman Joel Pabon is a lifelong resident of Perth Amboy currently serving his 10th year on the City Council. He is retired from the US Postal Service as Manager after serving 34 years.
In 1977 After graduation Joel Pabon joined the United States Army and then the National Guard and Reserve where he devoted twenty-three years of service to our country. During that time, he attended numerous military schools and academies and acquired the skills and knowledge to become a Drill Instructor. As an instructor he performed the duties of basic training at various military posts such as Fort Dix, fort Benning, Fort Jackson and Fort Lenard wood.
Some of his proudest achievements was being involved in the basic training of the first full female battalion. Other accomplishments that he is proud of is being awarded the US Army Commendation and Achievement Medals, Advanced Leadership ribbon, the enlisted Soldier and NCO of the Year Awards, the airborne badge and the drill instructor badge. Joel retired from the military with the rank of First Sargent.
