Diane Roman - Secretary
Born in New Brunswick, NJ Dianne Roman has worked for the City of Perth Amboy for over twenty years and has served in various capacities including Business Administrator, and her most recent as appointment as the Director of the Department of Human Services.
During her time working for the residents and family of Perth Amboy, Dianne Roman has been instrumental in strategizing campaigns including leading efforts in ensuring an accurate Census count, which did in fact resulted in increases in the city’s population. This includes the most recent decennial count in 2020 which despite a worldwide pandemic, Perth Amboy saw an increase in the total city’s population.
During the recent Covid-19 emergency, she was instrumental in helping to lead a successful vaccination campaign encouraging residents to get vaccinated and boosted. Through a collaborative effort, Perth Amboy hosted over 40 vaccination clinics which included working with Middlesex County health department and our healthcare institutions, businesses, schools, houses of worship, and non-profits.
As avid supporter of Education and the Arts, Dianne also currently serves on various boards including Board of Trustee for Middlesex College, State Theatre Latino Engagement Committee and Rutgers University, Center for Latino Arts and Culture Board. She is a proud sister of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority Inc.
In 2022, she was appointed by Middlesex County Commissioners to the Board of Trustees of Middlesex College, giving her an opportunity to continue her advocacy work in education.
During her professional career, she has received many recognitions including the Civic Leader of the Year by the Perth Amboy Chamber of Commerce and was inducted to the New Brunswick High School Hall of Distinguished Alumni.
She is the proud mother of Gabriella, a current senior at Perth Amboy High School.
